▮ DISCLAIMER.
Hi! My name is Lumi, I’m 25+, and my timezone is GMT+2.
This is a roleplay blog for Charles-Henri Sanson from the manga “Innocent” & “Innocent Rouge”. I don't own him, but I own the writing on this blog. The blog theme is also mine, the code belongs to me and it’s meant for my personal use only. The icons I use are edited by me and I would like to ask you to not use them.
▮ GENERAL.
Content warnings: physical and mental abuse, death, public executions, torture, suicidal thoughts, mention of suicide attempts, self-harm mention, drug abuse, mention of bullying, mention of cheating/infidelity. Crack will happen, smut will happen as well - Charles is a very promiscuous muse. However, I don't use explicit icons. I use the "Read More" function only when my partner does, by default I avoid it, but I always put warnings at the top of the more sensitive threads and tag them properly (as “thing cw”). In case of smut, I use the tag “☙ ⁽ 𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐄 ⁾ ❧ : 𝑆𝑝𝑖𝑐𝑦”. Hit me up if you need anything tagged.
I will not write rape, csa, necrophilia, or bestiality, and I’m not willing to include them in my muse’s backstory, no matter the verse. Please, respect that. This blog is selective, private, and 18+. It means I interact only with mutuals, and I'm a selective follower. My selectivity is mostly based on the content of your pages. If you are a minor, I will not be interested in interacting. This blog is low activity. I might reply more frequently on specific occasions, but generally speaking, my life won’t get less busy any time soon. I have a fulltime job and a family I have to take care of, and I simply can’t be around as much as I used to. Thus, I will not accept too many threads at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed and I might prioritize threads, which are easier to reply to. It’s possible that I disappear for weeks or months. Please, keep that in mind before following me.I use manga icons 99,9% of the time, but I don’t expect you to. I usually write multipara for plot-heavier RPs and single para for casual interactions with other muses or for crack. That being said, you don't have to match my length. Write as much as you consider necessary. I will do the same.I write in third person and in past tense. I can make an exception and write in present tense to match your style, but writing in first and second person is not my cup of tea. Please, follow me only if you are willing to use third person in our threads.I might not follow you back if you write only purple prose or overformat your replies. I have a problem reading such texts - my brain shuts down after a few words. Please, no god-modding. Don't move my muse at all without asking me first. Metagaming is fine only in crack threads, which have no impact on further interactions. My blog is multiship, but I'm rather picky about ships. I really love shipping, don't get me wrong, but the chemistry must be on point. I don't like pre-established relationships unless we have plotted something beforehand, canon relationships being the exception, of course.I believe in reblog karma. Of course, you don't have to send me something if it's totally ooc for your muse or if you don't feel like interacting right now. However, ask memes, which don't force any interaction, are pretty easy to copy-paste and send. I won't make a big deal out of it if it doesn't become a regular thing, but it still sucks to be used as a meme source.I'm not very talkative to people I barely know. Give me some time to get to know you better before you assume I dislike you based on my chat behaviour. It’s just how I am, there is nothing else going on, I promise. It shouldn't stop you from chatting me up.I use Philippe d'Orléans ( played by Alexander Vlahos ) from “Versailles” as a face claim for Charles. As of now, I rarely use icons of him, but I’m willing to change that in the future.English isn’t my first language - it’s not even my second one. I try my best to avoid making mistakes, but they might still occur. Please, bear with me.I roleplay only in English, but depending on the verse, Charles speaks either English and French, or French only. To distinguish between the two languages in threads in which he switches between both, I use ❝ Speech ❞ for English and ❝ [Speech] ❞ for French. (FYI, he speaks English with a very noticeable French accent :) .)I love making new verses to interact with characters from other fandoms. I generally enjoy AUs and crossovers much more than my canon verses - Charles had a very tragic life and I want to give him a second chance at being truly free and finding happiness. I use my modern verse as a default for anyone, who isn’t familiar with “Innocent” . Writing my muse in different settings is one of the things I love the most about RP, so don't feel afraid to hit me up if you have an idea!▮ MY REASONS TO UNFOLLOW OR BLOCK.I’m heavily against callout culture. Also, please, don’t come to my IM to inform me about the supposedly problematic behaviour of a mutual.I will softblock/block you if you actively participate in drama and / or police the rp content of others. I’m not fond of people who forbid their mutuals to interact with specific blogs and I’m not fond of people who try to ban certain topics, ships, or characters from the RPC, for whatever reason. I believe that everyone is responsible for the content they consume and shouldn’t make it anyone else’s problem. If you dislike a person’s RP content or their RP partners, then unfollow them and keep your drama to yourself.I don’t want to see vague-posts on my dash. I’m generally not against talking about your roleplay experiences, be they positive or negative. What I don’t want to see are posts, which aim to attack people. Also, please no passive-aggressive remarks and no guilt-tripping. That’s not how you make people interact with you, reply faster to you, or generally do your bidding, and it’s very manipulative.I will unfollow you if you take RP too seriously or personally. If your well-being depends on a timely response or on not losing followers, then I won’t feel comfortable interacting with you. I prefer keeping my roleplay experiences simple.I will block you if you discriminate against people based on gender, sex, sexuality, ethnicity, race, religion. Please, don’t follow me if you post too much character- or ship-related negativity. I don’t mind people who share their opinion in a respectful manner, but I very much mind people who flood my dash with rants about characters, ships, and the people who like them. Please, be mindful of mutuals, who might like the very thing you are bashing. Inconsiderate attitude bothers me a lot.I get very irritated when other muns put Charles down. If you post or share dismissive posts about him, or posts which demonise him, please don’t follow me. I generally have no understanding for muns who enjoy bashing the muses of their mutuals. It’s pretty rude and, again, inconsiderate. I will drop our interactions if you do this. And now that my “big nope”s are all out ( and I made them very detailed on purpose ), here are some general rules:
- I unfollow people, who haven't followed me back after a few days of posting.
- I tend to unfollow inactive blogs, who have been gone for months.
- Personal blogs, who follow me, will be soft-blocked.
- I also soft-block roleplay blogs, when I'm not interested in interacting.

Biography

Charles-Henri Sanson is one of the two main characters of the “Innocent” series. He is the oldest son of Charles Jean-Baptiste Sanson, and the fourth generation "Monsieur de Paris"- the term Parisians use for the Royal executioner of France during the 18th century. At the beginning of the manga, the 14 years old Charles is shown as a very kind, timid, emotional, and compassionate boy, who is desperate to escape the cruel fate he has been born into - to inherit the position of his father and become an executioner. After having been expelled from several schools because of his family name and occupation, and after being tortured into obedience by his own father and almost killed in the process, Charles is eventually forced to accept wielding the Sanson family blade and pass justice on criminals for the rest of his life. It’s only then, that Charles meets Jean, who is the son of a marquis, and develops feelings for him. However, fate doesn’t mean well with the young executioner - only a few weeks later, Jean is the first person to die by Charles’ hands on the scaffold. After this traumatic experience, Charles swears to his deceased friend to abolish executions and end the Sanson family line.Charles, who can barely stomach the sight of a corpse and fails at performing dissections, is seen as a disappointment by his father. Even after having a stroke and losing his ability to move, Jean-Baptiste continues to conceive children, with the hope that they might be better suited to inherit the title of the “Monsieur de Paris”. However, the position is eventually passed to Charles. As time passes and Charles becomes a man, he undergoes a drastic change in character. One of the main triggers for his development is his first sexual experience. From there on, not only does Charles start indulging in bodily pleasures, but he also becomes more and more accustomed to taking lives. The once shy and timid boy grows into a dutiful and confident man, who embraces his family name completely. His only ally within the family, his younger sister Marie, does not accept this new Charles, who resembles their father more with each day, and the two siblings part ways.He marries Anne at the age of 27. After the birth of their two sons, Henri and Gabriel, Charles realises that he can no longer pursue his dream of abolishing executions, because the future of his children has become his priority. Not unlike his father, Jean-Baptiste, Charles starts raising the two boys to become executioners. He believes as Sansons, they have no other path in life, and he falls back on his father’s strict parenting methods. He has a new dream now - to make executions more humane. He is a huge supporter of the guillotine, which becomes his main tool of execution.Eventually, he comes to regret his decisions, as Gabriel commits suicide to escape the executioner’s cursed fate. At the age of 54, unable to handle the loss of his beloved child, Charles becomes his true self again and decides to pursue his old dream, but his desperate attempts to abolish executions fail. The French Revolution claims many lives - thousands of them end on Charles’ scaffold. One of the last people to die by his guillotine before he retires, is his dearest friend King Louis XVI. When he is ordered to execute his own sister Marie though, he is no longer willing to oblige. Instead, he uses a wax figure to fake her execution, while she flees to England. They never see each other again.Charles passes away on July 4, 1806, at the age of 67.

After his father collapses, the kind and timid Charles-Henri is forced to accept wielding the Sanson family blade and pass justice on criminals as the older man's representative. After having to execute a person he holds dear, Charles swears to abolish executions and to end the Sanson family line by never having children. Eventually, he discovers his little sister's talent and interest in the family occupation - Marie-Joseph wants to become an executioner one day, and studies their father's books in secret. While still hoping for equality, Charles is no longer willing to risk the future of his family in order to abolish executions. His state of mind worsens by the day and he once again becomes his old fragile self.
